Speaker 1:

Hey, welcome to Mind your Heart Podcast, your favorite corner of the internet where we chat about all things mental health. I'm Emily.

Speaker 2:

And I'm Trina. Together, we're like your real-life Lorelai and Rory Gilmore. Each week, we'll bring you real conversations about the world of mental health and we will peel back layers on topics like anxiety, depression and much more.

Speaker 1:

We're here to chat with you about the tough stuff, the everyday stuff and everything in between. So grab your emotional support water bottle I know we have ours. Find your comfiest chair or keep your eyes on the road and let's get into it. Are you ready, mom?

Speaker 2:

Absolutely. Join us as we mind our hearts and hopefully make minding yours a little easier.

Speaker 1:

Welcome back, welcome to Mind your Heart. I'm Emily, I'm Trina and today we're doing a little bit more of like a fun light episode.

Speaker 2:

So we thought we were pretty heavy for a bit, yeah, and so we wanted to lighten it up just a little bit. And also we told you at the beginning, if you listened, in order, um, or at the intro we said we were talking about mindset, mental health and moms and daughters so this is the moms and daughters part yeah and um, one thing you haven't seen about us is that we are both very competitive.

Speaker 2:

No, only one of us is competitive. The other one is a recovering competitive. Okay, I am recovering competitive, I don't. I am, I hit rock bottom and I feel like it's just not as important to me and, honestly, it irritates me when people get like overly competitive, which is definitely how I have been in my lifetime, for sure, okay, so only one of us is competitive.

Speaker 1:

Um, well, that we're gonna do a little game where, uh, our our cameraman lighting man, my man is behind the scenes. He's gonna ask some questions and we're gonna write down the answer. So, like there's gonna be a question, I'm gonna write down her answer and she's gonna write down my answer and we're gonna see if we can get them right. Um, and then jake is going to keep score. Um, and then we'll see we're're going to keep score. Yeah, it's a competition.

Speaker 2:

Again, I don't care about competitions. Okay, I don't like competitions, I don't care if I win or lose All right.

Speaker 3:

So our first question what is my go-to comfort food? So again, mom will be writing for Emily and Emily will be writing for Mom. What is my go-to comfort food?

Speaker 1:

I actually don't even know my own answer.

Speaker 2:

I was going to say I don't know my own answer.

Speaker 1:

You know my answer I would like to play.

Speaker 3:

You would like to play? I would like to play. Okay, all right. You want me to go first.

Speaker 1:

Are you going to answer for both of us? Yeah, okay, okay All right.

Speaker 3:

So mom's go-to comfort food is cheese fries from Chili's? Oh yes, Just by that reaction, that's a dub. That's what I put Emily's is cake and or ice cream.

Speaker 2:

And I put ice cream, preferably with cake. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

I feel like we all get a point because I put cheese fries and cheeseburger. Yeah that's good, and I was thinking from Chili's, yeah, so okay cool, all right, I'm so okay cool.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, all right to be your first guest yeah, jake, you're our first guest.

Speaker 2:

Yes, yay, jake and daisy. Wait a minute. Daisy's our first guest, jake's our second guest all right round.

Speaker 3:

Two okay, if I could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? This is emily, so you're guessing for the other person? Ooh.

Speaker 1:

I feel like we should break down our answers too.

Speaker 3:

Because then I think, based on you guys' reactions, you'll be able to tell Okay, I don't know, I don't either.

Speaker 1:

I don't know, I'm just going to guess.

Speaker 2:

I don't know. I don't either. I don't know. I'm just going to guess. I don't know.

Speaker 3:

Okay, All right. So my guess for mom Ireland yeah, that was my guess too.

Speaker 2:

I was either going to say Ireland or Australia.

Speaker 3:

And for you, anywhere that Taylor Swift is performing, that's a good answer.

Speaker 1:

Which is why I said Paris Ooh, paris is good is good. Yeah, I'll accept that pretty much just anywhere that's not in the united states, I would say. So yeah, we all get a point again, nice all right round three.

Speaker 3:

Okay, what movie can I watch over and over again without wait, say it again.

Speaker 1:

What movie can I watch over and over again without getting tired? Wait, say it again.

Speaker 3:

What movie can I watch over and over again without getting tired? Okay, this is my first card For you. I'm going with High School Musical 3.

Speaker 2:

And I said Bride Wars. That was the right answer.

Speaker 3:

For you, I said Mamma Mia. No, definitely not. Runaway Bride Wars. That was the right answer. For you, I said Mamma Mia.

Speaker 2:

Definitely not Runaway Bride. Okay, I'll give you credit for that. Yes, dang, I knew yours too, because I really was, like I don't know, pretty Woman Runaway.

Speaker 3:

Bride is a movie.

Speaker 1:

I watched. You used to watch that over and over. That's why I put that.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, when I was breastfeeding you.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, all right. Question four what is one thing I'm surprisingly bad at? So you're guessing for the other person.

Speaker 2:

Emily is surprisingly bad at.

Speaker 1:

I don't know, man, you just are scribbling that out real quick. Um, I don't know. I mean, it's a good thing that I don't know. Yeah, this is stupid. You're gonna laugh because this is so dumb. Okay, this is so dumb. I said eating hot dogs because you really hate hot dogs. That's the only thing I can think of.

Speaker 2:

I do not accept that.

Speaker 3:

I'm accepting an L on this question. I have no idea.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

Patience.

Speaker 1:

Good answer, man you keep.

Speaker 2:

It was a good answer, wasn't it? Yeah, that's a very good answer, man.

Speaker 1:

it hit me where it hurt me. I thought you were. No, that's true.

Speaker 3:

Do you got it wrong?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I got it wrong, but you are bad at eating hot dogs. You don't like hot dogs.

Speaker 2:

I'm not bad at eating them. I don't like them. I know how to eat them. I don't eat them awkwardly, okay.

Speaker 1:

What would you have accepted, like? What's something? You're surprisingly bad at Handwriting. I don't really think that's true, though, but it is. Spelling that could be another one. Yeah, that would have been a good one.

Speaker 3:

All right, all right, round five. What was my favorite subject in school? Okay, I'm ready for you.

Speaker 1:

I went dance well, I put that too. Oh, I was thinking like the subjects like reading, writing, math.

Speaker 2:

I almost put math because you were in math club, but I was like dance, because you love dance so much well, it wouldn't have been math, it would have been science that's what I was thinking. I got that wrong, but I didn't, because I said dance, that's a subject. You took it. Referee council okay.

Speaker 1:

Well, yeah, what do you mean? Referee council? It's my favorite subject. I was gonna say science, wrong. No, you're wrong. I'm wrong about my favorite subject, because you didn't think dance competitive.

Speaker 2:

Because you didn't think dance counted is the only reason why I think that I still don't think I would have chosen that.

Speaker 1:

I still would have chosen, like I really like science. I took freaking an ap bio okay, all right point removed.

Speaker 2:

I think that's a little bit misconstrued I'm nodding my head.

Speaker 1:

Okay, well, I guessed English for you.

Speaker 2:

I would have been like all right with reading, but I don't know if I would have said English.

Speaker 3:

That is how about this? You both get points, all right.

Speaker 1:

That's not competitive. I'm a good judge.

Speaker 2:

I'm not getting upset, okay.

Speaker 3:

Alright, question six what's a pet peeve of mine that people might not know?

Speaker 2:

sorry there's gonna be a lot of lol alols in the podcast. I just thought of that too. Yeah, so um, while emily is writing on her whiteboard okay I'm done, all right okay, are you gonna guess, jake?

Speaker 1:

I'm not done. I thought I was gonna do much better oh okay, oh okay, so you're just out, okay, all right. Well, my guess was that yours is stupid rules and people who like are strict with them, like when somebody is like really adamant on like a rule, that's like outdated.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I could agree with that. Okay, I put people talking over me Like you wouldn't like. When people talk over you Like act like you're not there and they're kind of yeah, yeah, I'll accept it.

Speaker 1:

I don't know what my answer would have been if I had to make one, so yeah, okay, what's the next question? Judge.

Speaker 2:

The next question is coming.

Speaker 3:

Question seven what was my favorite book growing up?

Speaker 1:

Oh.

Speaker 3:

So Emily is guessing mom's favorite book growing up.

Speaker 1:

I think I know yours, but I don't well like define growing up like I like. I didn't really like to read when I was younger yeah, that's what I.

Speaker 2:

So I know you can't think of one for yourself, can you?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean, I can think of one, I can think of two, like things that I did really like to read.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I have no idea.

Speaker 1:

Okay Well, is it called Little Women? Yes, that's what I was going to guess. Yes, that's right, okay, cool. What I would have said for me was either um dork diaries or diary of a wimpy kid. Okay, because those were the like books that I actually had to read.

Speaker 3:

yeah all right, did you guess that?

Speaker 2:

no, no I the only thing I could think of was bob goff, or whatever is that love does yeah, yeah, that's what that was like my I was like 19 when I read that.

Speaker 1:

I mean, like that's a good one. That's probably that's not my favorite book, though I think like now I would probably say this is my turn. Pretty, I love that series okay, um all righty.

Speaker 3:

Question number eight if I could have dinner with one famous person, dead or alive, who would it be?

Speaker 2:

Oh gosh, she's definitely going to know what I say.

Speaker 1:

And you're not going to know what I would say. I feel like you would know. Yeah, I think I know too.

Speaker 3:

All righty.

Speaker 1:

Are we going to do it on three?

Speaker 2:

Sure One, two, three. Hugh Jackman yes. Taylor Swift yeah, Points for both Yay, hugh Jackman.

Speaker 3:

Question number nine this one's a little bit longer. Okay, what is my morning routine like?

Speaker 1:

Okay, okay, okay. What is my morning routine like? Okay, I feel like we don't need to write this down because writing with my finger is gonna take too long I can't answer for you okay okay.

Speaker 1:

So, um, you like to like, you wake up around like seven, you snuggle with kobe and then, um, sometimes you ride the Peloton in the morning but like, first you'll eat your oatmeal and have your coffee and then do. I think you have like your affirmation practices in the morning and then that's when you'll either ride the Peloton or not, if you're doing that day.

Speaker 2:

That's incorrect.

Speaker 1:

OK.

Speaker 2:

But you are so so spot on with everything else that I think that's fair to count it okay, um, when do you ride the peloton? Either either right. It's either right away before I do anything, or it's in the afternoon. I don't eat and do all that stuff and then ride the peloton and I do walk kobe, but that's all right oh okay, I, I him.

Speaker 2:

That's the very first thing If I either ride the Peloton or I walk Koki. Okay. So, but you were good, that was good. Yeah, I don't know what time you wake up.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it varies.

Speaker 2:

I feel like you could sleep forever and would like and like to, preferably like to sleep late and stay up late, and then I think you get up and you, I think, you ease into your day. Do you drink coffee in the morning? No, do you eat breakfast?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, I normally like my morning routine would be like I wake up, I immediately take my meds and then I go downstairs, and if it's a weekdayday then I'll take Daisy out, because I'll wake up later and. Jake had already taken her out earlier. And then I'll eat breakfast and then I'll do my like journaling and affirmations, yeah, and then get dressed alright, so I don't think I got it, but she did all right.

Speaker 3:

Question 10. This is our last one before the fun twist. Okay, what is one item they cannot leave home without boy? I have a feeling both of your answers will be the exact same.

Speaker 2:

Really yes.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I think so too all right, okay, show on three, one, two, three pillow jake threw me off because I can't leave the house without my pillow.

Speaker 2:

No water is definitely the answer. Um, yeah, I guess I I was thinking about taking a trip. I feel like I didn't get that that question correctly because I was thinking about taking a trip. I feel like I didn't get that question correctly because I was thinking about taking a trip, not just leaving the house. And then when Jake said that, it threw me off and I thought, well, he said it's going to both be the same and I'm like, well then it has to be pillow, because I don't like to go on a trip without my pillow. If you're going on a trip, that is something you both pack.

Speaker 1:

It's your pillow. Pillow. If you're going on a trip, that is something you both pack yeah, so I'll give you that counts.

Speaker 2:

Okay, I feel like you get a point for that, but water for sure is a much better answer.

Speaker 1:

I'm going the grocery store. Let me grab my pillow. You're like pillow. Well, that is not what you're gonna write well again.

Speaker 2:

I thought, yeah, isn't it interesting how you add stuff in your mind over a simple question.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, yeah, just an interpretation of it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

All right, so this final round is worth two points. Okay, emily is currently winning by one.

Speaker 1:

So I have to get this right.

Speaker 3:

The question, the wildcard prompt. You guys get to each ask each other a question that's not from the list.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 3:

So, for example, for me it'd be like how many stitches did I get when I was a kid? I don't know that answer yeah, how many was it?

Speaker 1:

Like three, three times, yeah, oh, you had stitches three times, wow, I was very accident prone as a kid um oh okay, I got one for you okay, you asked me and maybe it'll spark my all right.

Speaker 2:

What was the name of my childhood dog?

Speaker 1:

well, I feel like you had multiple, but the one I'm thinking of is greta. That is correct.

Speaker 2:

Yes, okay um, I feel like I that was a good, fair question yeah I didn't try to stump you yeah well, I, I mean, I guess I lose it, matter what We'll do it for fun, all right.

Speaker 1:

Well, I'm trying to think. I don't. I don't know, can I phone a friend? No, you can't think of a question I don't know. I don't know Because I'm thinking of all like the basic stuff, like what's my favorite color, or like what's my favorite TV show, like you know those answers.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Friends.

Speaker 3:

We're sitting in a room full of pink, yeah.

Speaker 1:

With a signed Friends picture over there. Yeah, um.

Speaker 3:

I need help. What is her current dream car?

Speaker 2:

oh, huh your current dream car.

Speaker 1:

I don't think she would know this. This is like a stump, you kind of question, though well, I already lost, so it's alright.

Speaker 2:

Alright. This is like a stump you kind of question though. Okay, sorry, well, I already lost, so it's all right. All right, is it like a SUV? Yeah, okay.

Speaker 1:

I would have counted that as a point or points. Yeah, well, on my vision board it's the Jeep Grand Wagoneer, because it's got like all this like fancy tech, and because I want to have multiple kids, it's got all this space for them and I just think they're so pretty Cool and it's like, well, it's not reasonable, it's like a very, very expensive car, but that's yeah Alright, yeah, alright. Well, who won? You did, you did.

Speaker 2:

By one point Congratulations, thank you. I'm not bothered one bit. All right, so that was a fun little episode. We hope that you enjoyed the lightness of it and I hope there wasn't too many lulls, because there was a lot of pausing. So pausing on podcasts I feel like this is better on YouTube For sure. Pausing on podcasts is a little like hello, are you going to talk?

Speaker 1:

So yeah, Well, so I guess you're just going to have to go also subscribe to our YouTube channel so that you can see it. But if you want to tune in to next week, we'll be here next week Minding our heart on Mondays, yep.

Speaker 2:

Mind your heart Mondays. You can also ask questions and we will answer questions. Yes, please do that that would have given us more questions, that's true. And Daisy, are you freezing?

Speaker 1:

No, okay, she's scared of the thunder. Okay, yeah, so yeah, thanks for watching and listening, bye, bye.
